Freddie Maxwell
Originally from Malone, NY, Freddie Maxwell has been a professional trumpet player, arranger, composer and music educator for the past four decades. Freddie has toured with Alicia Keys, Lionel Hampton, Jimmy Dorsey, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra among numerous other bands, performing in major cities throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and the US. His impressive versatility has brought him to fans of nearly all music genres, including pop, rock, R&B, jazz, funk, big band, world, Latin, and classical. He has shared stages with iconic jazz and big band stars such as Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Benny Golson, the Harry James Orchestra, Jerry Lewis, Connie Francis, Clark Terry, Jon Faddis and Frank Foster; pop/R&B stars Diana Ross, Barry White, The Temptations, The Shirelles, Martha Reeves, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and Tina Turner; and Latin artists Mark Anthony, Tito Puente, Sérgio Mendes, the Chico O'Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra and the Big 3 Palladium Orchestra. Freddie has performed on recordings with Christina Aguilera (RCA Records) and Alicia Keys (Columbia Records). His national television performances include the Grammys, The David Letterman Show, and specials on BET and HBO. In addition to his performance and recording career, Freddie has been a New York public school band director for over 25 years. With his wife, the Broadway performer Anika Larsen, Freddie created the jazz group The Larsen/Maxwell Quintet. Freddie has lived in London and Monte Carlo and currently resides just outside New York City.
